Newsletter for Fall 2017

This newsletter is to inform Wadleigh Pond Association members on the progress made regarding the dam. There will be a meeting  at the dam, but the date hasn’t been confirmed. As soon as we know, we will let members know,  by email and on the WPA FB page.

The Annual Picnic was again a success and a great time was had by all who attended. We raised $1571.14 after expenses. In addition to that donations were made by 3 generous members, Mario and Chad Binette and Patricia Blaikie.  Lynn Lord donated her time and talent to making the calendars that were so popular last year and again this year and added to the amount of money that was raised. The trophy for best boat was won by Brian Dulong and Sara Oulette.

The picnic is a fundraising event to raise the money to make the necessary repairs to keep the dam in good shape. It is also a “once a year” time for all “pond people” to get together and hopefully make and renew friendships.  As always a big thank you to all the people who volunteered their time and talents to making it such a success.

As far as the amount of dues that have been contributed this year…that is disappointing. Some members took this opportunity to pay their dues and that was very appreciated. Last year $3675.00 was contributed, but this year so far only $2200. 00 has been contributed. When and if we get a “permit” to do repairs to the dam, we will have some big expenses. But if we can get past the repairs, the dam could be good for many years.  That is the goal!
